RESIN ESTIMATOR

The following is a quick estimator guide of how much resin is required for different fibreglass fabrics.

Matting

0.75 oz - 1 Gal or 3.78 Lt / 8 square yards

1.0 OZ - 1 Gal or 3.78 Lt / 6 square yards

1.5 OZ - 1 Gal or 3.78 Lt / 4 square yards

Matting weight = oz per sq foot

Cloth, Kevlar, Carbon Fibre

2.0 ounce - 1 Gal or 3.78 Lt / 40 square yards

4.0 ounce - 1 Gal or 3.78 Lt / 15 square yards

6.0 ounce - 1 Gal or 3.78 Lt / 10 square yards

10 ounce - 1 Gal or 3.78 Lt / 6.5 square yards

 Cloth weight = oz per sq yard : which equal 9 sq ft

Specialty Fabrics

18 OZ woven roving 1 gallon / 4.5 square yards

24 OZ woven roving 1 gallon / 3.5 square yards

Biaxial mat 1708 - 1 gallon / 4 square yards

Fabric weight = oz per sq yard : which equal 9 sq ft

**Note**

- These are estimates. Many factors can affect exact requirement.

- When in doubt its better to have some extra resin then run short

- Porous surface such as wood, will require more resin for the first layer
