Tooling gelcoat is an abrasion resistant polyester gelcoat for making tooling masters and molds where good gloss retention is paramount. The life of an otherwise good polyester mold may be extended considerably by the use of a tooling gelcoat. For best results the mold should be considerably heavier and stronger than the part which it produces. Tooling gelcoat is applied in two coats but in the same manner as other gelcoats and should not be thinned.
