Isopropyl alcohol dissolves a wide range of compounds. Thus, it is used widely as a solvent and as a cleaning fluid, especially for dissolving oils. It also evaporates quickly, leaves nearly zero oil traces, and is relatively non-toxic, compared to alternative solvents.
